Stumbling Along...

Why Do People Stumble?

Physically, we might stumble for a number of reasons. Our struggles can be factors related to our health, emotional weaknesses or fleshly appetites. Any of you reading this blog clearly falls into one of these categories. Everyday we are challenged with circumstances that make us stumble. But, the problems appears if we just continue to stumble along in life.

I believe a lot of our stumbling is spiritually related. We stumble because we fail to trust and delight in God and find our strength in Him. Our priorities doesn't allow us to see God for who He really is in our lives. When we fail to see life from God’s perspective we end up making foolish choices. Those choices can cause us our life.

As I mentioned, there will always be things in our Christian walk that will come along to trip us up. However, it through God's word that we find hope and trust again.

Proverbs 24:16 says, “For the righteous falls seven times and rises again.”

The Bible shares many examples of believers who stumbled spiritually, sometimes paying a dreadful price for their sin. But, they didn’t stay down. By God’s grace and with His help, they got up and started walking with Him again. Thank God! You can too.

Satan wants us to believe God is done with us when we stumble and fall. But this is not the truth. Paul said that because of Christ’s work in us, “we are struck down but not destroyed.” God is always interested in and concerned about stumbling saints. God’s hand is always stretched out to lift us up.

If you have found yourself in a place where you feel you can't get back up, Scott Peterson said, "In the end, it alcoves to choices to turn stumbling blocks into stepping stone!"
